Porsche 356 Tool Kits
Please note: other than tools on the "Wanted and For Sale/Trade" page, these tools are not for sale.
Variety 1: 356A - smooth red vinyl, light white backing, light brown leather belt
Example 3:
This one appears to have some more recent components (i.e., the blister-pack
fuses)
Variety 2: 356B - blue (same as B tool bag), blue backing
Example 1:
This is the nicest one I have ever seen and came from the original owner who
never used it.
Example 2:
This is a Carrera kit, and appears to be a brighter blue than the one above.
Other than the parts it contains, it appears to be the same as the pushrod
travel kits.
Variety 3: 356B/C - gray vinyl like 1962 tool kit, white backing, brown(?) leather belt. This kind may also appear in a mirror image (with regards to pockets) of the others.
Example 1:
The owner of this kit has a matching set - tool kit, travel kit, and bra bag
(may originally have been a tonneau bag).
Example 3:
Note the pockets - they are the mirror image of all the others on this page.
The light box is a later variety and probably not original for the 356 era. The
cardboard box is not original.
Example 4:
This kit was delivered with a new car in April 1964 picked up at the factory.
What is unusual is that it appears to be an A style bag! Some parts have been
used, but the light bulb box is the one it came with in 1964.
